Myself and Geraldo (fellow make-up artist), Flutter around Harvey Nicks to cast models for our commissioned Eyelash Shoot. We needed to find a 2, nice clean-paled, gorgeous female ladies with humungous blue or green eyes...easy peasy in Harvey Nicks. So there is us wondering about like pervs, checking out the ladies that worked there like we were picking someone for a thai massage, (Geraldo amplifying this of course) with a template of 'The Typical Fashion Male Picking Style Guide'.... literally to look, stop, stand for a few minutes, stare whilst tilting our heads, before rushing up to them like something just clicked, asking if we can see their 'Beautiful' face and eyes!

LFW WARDROBE DIARIES WITH IMAN PASHA*

Another lil' project with the lovely Iman Pasha for http://savoirflair.com where she shares her daily Fashion Week outfit choices from Matches Fashion Store http://www.matchesfashion.com/. Yup so other than both our duties for Fashion Week, we had to make sure to catch each other between shows, find a decent spot and to get the shots.

DAY 1 & 2

DAY 1 "I wore a fitted Balenciaga blazer, cosmic Christopher Kane tee, cotton gabardine Chloé shorts, and my favorite Celine bag.”

DAY 2 "I wore lace-up Alexander McQueen boots, Iro leather shorts, and a short-sleeved blouse and studded cardigan (both by Acne)."

DAY 3 & 4

Day 3 "I wore Markus Lupfer’s beaded sweatshirt dress, Azzedine Alaïa’s lace-up booties, and Chloé’s large braided Marcie bag."

Day 4 "I wore Balenciaga's spotted panel front dress, Drome's collarless jacket, and YSL's insanely stylish Palais peep-toe pumps and Muse 2 bag."

DAY 5 & 6

Day 5 "I wore a hot pink, sleeveless Balenciaga dress, my favorite Drome jacket, and Alexander McQueen's satin clutch and lace-up booties."

Day 6 "I wore Suno's stunning splatter-paint dress, which is the perfect piece to close off London Fashion Week - it's comfortable and stylish to boot. Until next season!"

NEW DISCOVERY AT LFW AW/11

I have to say, this season at LFW us press peeps needed the free champs. We also needed the hour at the end of each day to get together, jam, catch up and talk about whats going on that night. Here are some shots of fellow fashion mates and also people that just captured my eye, so I captured them on stills....whilst holding a glass at all times!

Markus Maverick and girlfriend Therese Johansson poses for another photographer, but even though I have many shots of them I had to shoot behind the scene!!! You can catch them at Brick Lanes recent vintage market, where they are getting rid of most of their attire!

LFW CAROLINE CHARLES

The Caroline Charles 'Grown up Glamour' show fed the audience Mozart and Arcade Fire. This perfectly suited the trot of models that carried themselves with traditional British, countryside tailoring with an Equestrian feel to it. The materials were rich of earthy tweeds and wool, hit with pungent colours of luxurious silk and velvet. Neat pinched waists added sharpness and shape to the tailoring. Animal printed hats balanced out the outfits and the equestrian style gloves was a bonus of extra detail which completed the lifestyle.

LFW CORRIE NIELSEN

American student Corrie Nielsen, age 40, originally from America, won the 2010 Fashion Fringe Covent Garden. She was presented with the award by John Galliano, who was the years honorary Chair of Fashion Fringe. She also got herself a handy winning of £100.000 and a place to show at London Fashion Week A/W 11...this show right here!

I enjoyed this show incredibly, which made it harder for me to shoot because I was moving my chin articulately to the starting Classical music and then swaying to a more chilled out sound that it turned into. Not only was the music infective but so was the Romantic collection, which was inspired by theElizabethan period and French Haute Couture from the 1950's.

The first few looks included finely made tailored trousers, skirts and box jackets with modern leather panels, but I want to touch on her more exaggerated pieces like her Silk Taffeta Monuments!

The evening costumes were dramatic, with great structures and you can see Nielsen's precise craftsmanship shine through her pieces. Elizabethan style silhouettes were seen through corsets, knots, wraps and extravagant collared Ruffles, Colours of deep Aubergine, Blue and Turquoise added to the richness of the pieces.

The finale music ended with powerful Organ music, ready for a great applause!

I saw this Russian bird from the distance, back to me, where it looked like she was either battling the wind with a plastic bag or battling a pigeon with a plastic bag, so I was nosey and approached the situation! It turned out she was battling the wind whilst was scoffing down her sandwich quickly before a show! Anyway love the detail on this ladies outfit!

REEEED HEEAAAD! Love it dearly, it was so pungent like the colour of saffron!!!! Needed to shoot this biker chick.

So Jean and I were hanging outside the Burberry show, biggest show of LFW....and I had to snap him due to my Hair fetish. Jean Galien is a very cool french Interior designer, with plenty of effortless style!

This DOG had to get snapped by Mr because I used to have hair this colour!!!!!!....dirty silver is what I like to call it! what a swaggerish dog man! I need one of these!!!!

The lovely Model, Marin-Daley Hawkins had to be snapped whilst walking back from the burberry show due to Burberry traffic!!!

And an amazing leather coat, that cannot be pulled off by most people!!!

It was a must to follow tradition and put Tomas on the spot to shoot....just to get this very reaction! Also had to shoot him in shoot mode, oblivious to his shooting stance...i just think its because he was on the road and this is his 'get ready to run if a car comes' position.

Back at the press lounge, and i come across a cute kid, dressed all 'proper and stuff' drinking his cola so well that this should be the next campaign! What was funny was that after 3 minutes I found out this little chap was the son of the Editor of Sublime Magazine, whom I know!

LFW Maria Francesca Pepe Exhibition

So myself and my gal for the day Emma Darling meet up at midday for our first thing of the day. It being the first thing of the day meant we were probably fragile to anything dense...and dense it was when we arrived....the lights were dim and red, the music was........dark, we were jumpy from what we thought was a real person in a dominatrix style bodysuit, but actually a mannequin, which made me even more scared because I could imagine the mannequin just coming alive! There was a very edgy vibe in there with a medieval but punky taste.

This was just the first 5 minutes of entering....afterwards I actually liked the way Francesca Pepe showed her jewellery, which were actually on real women also, but real women with jet black contacts, lazing on blocks, being chained with jewellery from hips to shoulder and finger to finger!

There were amazing pieces from Jewelled encrusted helmets to thick gothic chains, cross rings and rings with crystals dangling from them! It was as close to saying ghetto religion!!!!

The darkness of the morning was balanced out with our visit to the TATA NAKA exhibition which was too packed for me to get a decent pic of the collection, but managed to snap their bizar Jelly pieces, which looked devine!!!

The Husband and Wife design team create a dark and edgy evening Rock'nRoll theme in this collection, with outfits of cat suits and body con dresses. These were created with leather and lace panels, layered with metal sequins and studs. This show was all about shape, silhouette and body, and the dominatrix touch to it as well as heavy beading and metal replacing the traditional feathers, made this a collection sexy and dangerous!

LFW HOUSE OF HOLLAND SHOW

I didn't have a ticket for the House of Holland show and nor did Tomas but for some reason we decided to hang outside the venue, probably because we didn't have anything better todo....i mean press drinks hadn't started yet so why not!!!! It was getting cold outside so we kind of went up to the door and asked if we could just go in even though we didn't have a ticket.....and they kindly allowed us! So we rolled in, and it was packed but managed to get a clear view with one eye! Here are me shots!

I liked this show, and not just because I got in without an invitation! I had never seen a Holland show before, so it was quite refreshing for me! Bold and Bright colours were used running though but I know this comes standard with Holland's style....i'd say more of a mature woman's collection with a 70's feel to it, but aimed and cool enough for stylish young adults. Holland's inspiration was Bingo, his granny and Tweed. My favourites were the bright tailored tweet jackets....anything with texture that is powerful enough to be able touch with your mind.

The colours were very tasteful and even though they were bright, they were soft and pastel....tones of mustard, burnt orange, powder blue, olive and earthy brown.

The collection was lovely to look at, with 70's inspired patchwork crop tops and chunky scarves. Also loved the use of beading, lined to create a slimming effect around the waist. Very neat.

So after the show, my guy Samuel and I were off to a party and we bumped into Joel Dash, whom I allowed to kidnap us and take us to the House of Holland afterparty! twas mucho fun.........

LFW STREET STYLE AND MORE PEOPLES

Simple attire can always be heightened with a good colour balance as seen on the left guy, and I was very happy to capture the subjects comfortableness, revealing his colourful personality also.

Wow I saw the guy on the right who was working at the exhibitions and had to snap a strong portrait and this man, to focus on his gaze and raw, natural features. Beautiful.

On the left is gorgeous Model, Monique Burrell looking elegant and graceful, and on the right is another striking model. Both with those such pure faces.

Amber Rose always gives me her time to snap her! This is her just entering the ASHISH Show. On the right Amber poses with me mates Samuel and Emma Darling.

MIA was also at the ASHISH Show. Samuel, Emma and I were outside just after the show and when she came out, Samuel started chatting to her in Sri Lanken language (samuel will have to correct me), me thinking he has gone mad and looking obsessive and just not cool. BUT they are actually related so they caught up after years in 10 mins!

LWF ASHISH SHOW

The Ahish show was hyper as usual and it being the last show of women's wear for LFW, it was extra buzzing. The likes of Amber Rose, Paloma Faith and M.I.A (her 'never' song being the soundtrack) were at front row, which created foolishness from people however created jokes at the photographers pit, which is where I stood on a ladder as high as the catwalk lamps!

This collection was amazing as usual, with the traditional Sequin Shift Dresses, and sequins this time infused with Tartan Highland patterns. It was very underground grunge with the sickest creepers provided in collaboration with Underground England, which apparently when bought comes with a bottle of Tipex for you to go crazy on the tops!

My favourite pieces were the Moth-eaten knittwear (which balances out the tartan not being made from wool) and the cob-webb knee tights, which were inspired by the cob-webb elbow tattoos!

We also saw cool sequin baggy shorts and tracky bottoms combined with neat bone shirts which apparently were inspired by M&S boxer shorts! Nice!!!

What i love about Ashish collections is that it has the attitude to combine whatever you want, and if you do it well then you can combine anything you want!!! Plus this....you don't have to be someone to dress like this...hierarchy is non existent with ASHISH!

My man Tomas, film maker and photographer. Rockin the mountaineer look.....yes i get this from his blue eyes, which I imagine reflecting off the cool icey mountains (cough cough) and his orange piped coat....don't mountaineers always have some sort of orange on and piping in heir attire?

Whilst we are on Tomas already have a look at the steps of this slide show...............this is one of the reasons why i love this man............

I say, if someones hair catches the corner of your eye then its good enough to shoot. My love of hair meant I had to chase this lady on the left, she was in a rush so I had to quickly ask for her portrait. All in black with her orange bob....love it. Plus the extra detail in her lenses reflecting the roads double yellow line (reminding me of The Wizard of Oz's Yellow Brick Road) and on the right lens my pink trainers just makes this more of an interesting portrait!!!

The "Bad Bitch" (words from my friend Leon) on the right had to get shot. Another hairstyle I felt like grabbing but couldn't so had shoot her and imagine grabbing it after!

Detail Detail Detail.....a very nice tailored man on the left with union flag buttons. An old inspired traditional british look from clothing to facial features and presence.

Above right, my man Michael Stephens always looking clean and fresh but throws you off with ticks of detail which has more effect on me than someone wearing a zebra patterned bodysuit.

Another well put together outfit, whilst keeping the dignity of a mature and tasteful gentleman.

Left, We have Bert who is a jewellery designer/maker and as usual manages to put a good layering of new and old garments on and make them fit perfectly with each other.

Above right we have Oscar Alexander Lundberg. He is a Fashion and celebrity Make-up Artist. Looking very comfortable in his Cape Coat, with a huge collared shirt underneath, which lined him up perfectly for a strong portrait.

On the left is Russell Arkinstall, who i work with a bit for Disorder magazine. He is always seen in black, which is his favourite colour, and whats great about this is that he can match up loads of different shapes and materials and rock it well!

Then we have my bro Curtly who I only got to see on menswear day, when I usually jam with him a lot during Fashion weeks. After a long week working behind the scenes at FW he is still manages to keep his high top fresh. Oh and he is rocking his own bleached bottoms. Sweet as

LFW - MENSWEAR DAY KTZ SHOW

KTZ SHOW was mad as ever! But I loved it....love the designers attitudes and love the way they express their philosophy through their collections and shows.

KTZ, as in Kokon to Zai, as in 'from here to then'.

Koji Maruyama, Sasko Bezovski and Marjan Pejoski work together to create their rebellious collection which is aimed to show transgression/movement of the wearers feeling and ideas. This is why their graphic shapes, prints and even music is essential for the wearer and audience. Creativeness throughout is always seen 100% in KTZ Shows.

These wooly hat/masks just reminded me of Phone Jacker! We can see Koji's Japanese BIG touch being in forced greatly. Yes these 'head pieces' to put it eloquently, is more seen in the Hip to the Hop (lol) Japanese scene....even Chad Hugo rocks these whilst on the decks....he knows...but this isn't surprising....N*E*R*D as the coolest mothers anyway. So yeah the show started off with these attacking masked thugs, swinging their arms so hard that I actually questioned for half a second, if these were actually real people in the clothes!! Half a second only....

Even these BIG bangles emphasised their march....it reminded me of those lego soldiers walking to their death, with me marching them off my table when I was a kid!

KTZ is always very youthful and avante-garde, but this is what makes it enjoyable, fun and different.

They covered around 36 different outfits from tailor and leather jackets to oversized fur coats, all with a bang of bold block colours and dizzy enduring stripes. Their graphical shapes accent the movement of each piece, which one wouldn't necessarily catch onto.

FW MENSWEAR DAY CASSETTE PLAYA

Cassette Playa Show was the one I was looking forward to all week. It was just a shame I messed up getting a space in the photographers pit to get proper shots! Me being fussy I asked a photographer in front of me if he would be sitting or standing when the show starts, just so I knew where i'd space myself in clear view of the runway. The guy then asks me where my pass is (which I forgot at home that day). I ended up being moved off the pit by security, but all was good when my LATE friend finally turned up and I just sat with her before squeezing into the floor at the beginning of the catwalk.

Here are my fave pieces (and also ones i managed to actually snap) from Carrie Munden's Brand, Cassette Playa Autumn/Winter Collection 2011

An amazing show with digital prints of Native Indian Symbols on oversized silk tops, oversized corded Jumpers and head to toe corded tracksuits! The quilted Jackets caught me also because I would rock these hard whilst listening to Nicki Minaj, Giggs and Gucci Mane walking through Brooklyn!!! Na I would rock these anywhere, but what i'm tryna say is that Munden definately put on a show where viewers could smell and feel the lifestyle that was offered as a taster with her collection. Munden's Inspirations came from "The Lost Boys", "Coney Island Freak Show" and "Garage. Yup.

Every little detail was exaggerated to a key feature of the collection, like the model's dip-dyed hair, which by the way was trimmed sharper than Jamie Fox ever did. Models were also covered completely (even eye lids) in gold paint, a bloody good idea, mannequin style for the clothes to sit on nicely.... but then again, looking at the other hallucinative features from the show such as Model Jay Reed with his face tattoos, I reckon that Munden's idea of gold body paint was just to emphasis that ghetto fab!

Whispers of confusion after the show such as what culture/gang is this? Hip-hop? Grunge? Punk? Well do you know what, I don't care...keep the public guessing I say...its more interesting.... and by the way if i could pick any Army for my Kingdom then my Iron Soldiers would have to look like this!

The very rustic and back to basic video (shot by Elliot Power) enhanced the qualities of Dorian and allowed me to feel and understand creatively the character and style of Dorian's music. I have been working with these 2 young and talented Men for some years now. Under the label Giaroye,

Gia and Roye have independently been in the fashion industry for some years now, providing timeless collections of a tailored/sports style menswear from finely tailored Trenches to their seasonal Panda T-shirts.

They are soon to be seen on sky 3 talking about their recent collection, and an intimate, informative interview about themselves, their inspirations and their journey. They are also holding a pop up store very soon in Camden where they will not only be showing and selling their collection but also selling other talented artist's creative work.

Here are a few backstage shots I took from the filming for sky 3, filmed by Mama Youth Project and interviewed by Tv and radio Presenter Blaze. Mama youth project is a production company and the aim of a scheme to provide underprivileged teenagers an insight into the working of television.

We used my parents house to film as they wanted to be surrounded by my mums new art work, from sculptures, paintings and pottery!

Ozwald Boateng - A Man's Story

A few things were going on at leicester square on the 22nd, one being Julia Robert's new movie premier, which i cant really remember the name of. I was here for one thing and one thing only. Ozwald Boateng's 100 model show 'A Mans Story' (1st London Show in 18 years) to end London Fashion week.
So I walk in with my last minute hook up ticket climbing the stairs to my Leopard Print seat, accompanied by a straw and a small bottle of bubbly telling me to chill out and to enjoy the show. But do you know what I did for you? I walked all the way downstairs (with my free bottle of bubbly for later) with me Press Pass and joined the 6 meter square stage, sardined by those (mostly) troglodyte camera men whom don't understand the manners of fashion but are there to make shit loads of money with their easy to use cameras.
I don't need to describe to you the show, textures, materials used and all that jazz that fashion bloggers do (saying this with love). This is what I photographed.......................... pictures say it all x

Orschel Read Show - SS/11 - LFW

Opening music for this show was tribal, which somehow suited the authentic collection of finely cut suits, double military jackets, low v neck cable knit tops and high waisted cashmere trousers. The whole collection look very real to and extent of almost organic looking with the colours and quality of the wear looking so textured that one could feel the materials when watching. Rich sheeny Emerald Green mixed with Gold and deep Purple with Archaic Green/gold patterns complementing this fine gentleman feel! A unique, detailed and wearable look provided for every occasion and man was bought to us!

Ashish SS/11 - London Fashion Week

Another last minute hook up at the ASHISH Show. By the time i got in there it was hela packed but i had my seat (but then still knowing that i had to get into the press section to catch the shots i wanted!) I went to my seat anyway just for fun and then made my way to the rowdy camera men crew section. My lateness took revenge and I couldn't find one space (not even between someones tripod) for me to settle. Was looking for one of those stools, which are usually left behind us or even those teeny ladders. Nothing except a big ass ladder (which i did get on) and meant I was accompanied by the runway lights (thats how high). But I was much happier to be elbowed by a light than being squashed by a ruthless camera man. (All these comments on the camera men BTW are targeted at only a minority).

So the show! Incredibly entertaining...(ye maybe because I was the highest person at the show).
How can i describe this collection? Well it was like a wild wild west vs Red Indian battle with both sides finding the biggest Bling and Glitter to kill each other! Amazing! It felt like there was a lot of history infused in this collection but glamourised or made modern, not just because of the Cow Boy and Indian look but felt like there was recent history, like memories of when i was a lil boy! Example, these Cow Boy Boots which were covered in Mac Donalds logos. Im sure I got a toy version very similar in me happy meal back in the day! If i didn't then I think it should have been! And the feathered head pieces, something that reminded me of Pocahontas. So my life of Mac Donald and Disney movies came back to me! This is how I felt. But his season was inspired by “the bastard child of Calamity Jane and Rooster Cogburn.

Roksanda llincic SS/10 - LFW

As usual, drama (or really waiting) was on point before Roksanda's show at the On/Off Venue, Victoria House. But a little birdie sneaked us in round the back up a crookity old lift. I love been hooked up!

This show attracted the likes of Anna Wintour, Suzy Menkes, Hilary Alexander, and Paula Reed. No wonder it was long to get the show started!

This collection was splashed with fresh bright colours and a lot of airy pastel colours on silky dresses, shirts and trousers. A smooth liquidy flow rimmled the walk with a 70's (but modern 70s) feel with high waisted and and wide legged trousers as well as the head scarfs. The use of flourescent pink was my poison!

Nicole Farhi SS/11 - PLUS Backstage shots by myself*

I had the privilege of owning a backstage pass (last minute hook up) for Nicole Farhi's SS/11 show. Myself along with my sketchbook writer Cleide and Joel the founder of DASH EMPIRE, strolled up the grand spiral staircase to see Anna Wintour and Nicole Farhi having a chat. I quickly got a posed shot from them and then flew backstage 15 minutes before the show. I caught the most amazing footage backstage including a video where you will see and feel the buzz and rush from the preperation for the show. Literally 5 people on one model dressing and styling her grabbing 5 parts of her hair! Amazing! So being a passionate photographer i have that itch to keep shooting when in an extraordinary environment, even if i have shot that particular shot already!

Following the models down the stairs to the show i squeezed myself within the press area to catch the show. FRONT ROW i see....Editor of American Vogue, Editor in Chief of British Vogue and Editor of Parisian Vogue and many other big peeps.

My first Rhodesian Ridgeback Experience

Right so I am in Denmark walking through a field of footballers playing and training for the DANA Cup Tournament and I see a family with 2 amazing dogs standing powerfully suggested with their thick necks and powerful tight bodies, but with the most beautifully sculptured dark faces showing off a little elegance and manners.

After 5 minutes of wondering what breed these dogs were, I finally guessed that they might have been the Rhodesian Ridgeback breed by catching a glimpse of their dark spine of which the hairs of this part actually runs the opposite direction to the rest of the short sleek coat. Next on my mind were the stories i heard about these dogs. Other names given to this breed of dog were the Van Rooyen's Lion Dogs or African Lion Hounds. Yes these South African developed breeds were used to hunt Lions. Early in their history groups of this dogs were used to corner Lions for hunting. Now in other countries I hear that they are used to hunt Bears also!

I had to say hi to the owners and get a closer experience with the dogs so thats what I did. The owners Siw and Morgan were a lovely family from Stockholm who had travelled to Denmark to support their girls competing in the Dana Cup Tournament.
The dogs were called HUGO, which was the darker male and the other was called Leo who was the lighter one, and funny enough the owners actually purchased them from a breeder in the UK. There multi brown and gold colour coat looked rich and sleek and it was the first close up experience to such and unusual marking on their back...the dark ridge that ran the other direction.

The owners were chuffed at the fact that the dogs were coming up to my face explaining how they don't usually do that to strangers, in fact they have such a guard mentality that your not meant to look at them in the eyes for the first time as it looks threatening to them. But they are amazing guard dogs but are very affectionate and are perfect family dogs.

Siw and Morgan confirmed that these breed of dogs were used to hunt Lions and other wild animals.

Sketchbook Magazine's 2nd Pop up Store @ Kingly Court

For 10 days any creative alien was able to dive into Sketchbook Magazine live and promote their talent in a raw and hands on level to promote and expose their talent. Sketchbooks 2nd Pop up Store took place in Kingly Court as part of Carnaby's 50th fashionable Anniversary. This store was holding 3 floors....first floor with its studio where daily photoshoots would take place. Lower floor holding a community of artists and illustrators creating the likes of wall size sketches, and the gallery of the upper floor filled with the echoed whispers of the sketchbook staff eating cheese cake and getting on with their 3rd issue, The Editors issue. The space was spot on....gritty and real with atoms of character bouncing into the minds of young artists.

I popped in on a very busy day where the vitamin water had to be topped up ideally by an electrical sketchbook monkey. Why Monkey?? I dont know why but Artist Angie Wu would have broken her led pencil out of excitement for this! Angie Wu was in the downstairs space, table with sheets of articulated drawn monkeys for her project 'menagerie' and her idea of creatures with habit.

A live Photoshoot was going on in the joint. Young Photographer Naomi James was shooting for Designer Hannah Sea and her new collection. Naomi was assisted by stylist Auk Homme and Calum Knight, the son of legendary Nick Knight himself. These young creatives were bursting with enthusiasm and enjoyable banter and were catching genius shots with model Camilla Monck using every possible inch of the stores curious space!

Every Sunday, Brick Lane brings in hundreds of people from the local Bangladesh community to tourists and young creative students selling and market shopping at Brick Lanes up market.
One lovely Sunday afternoon I was there looking for a Car Park where a small community of fixed gear bikers meet up as friends and ride together showing off their tricks and talking about what they got up to the night before!

Hogarthian Wigs made by London College of Fashion Students*

It was an honour to be inolved in and shoot the final wigs made by London College of Fashion sudents at the John Soanes Museum. These Hogarthian Inspired witty wigs were created for John Soane's annual fundraising event on 4th May.

The students were from the BA (hons) Make up and Prosthetics for Performance course. They researched the Museums archive and explored its collections focusing on the museum's most treasured pocessions, Hogarth's series of paintings 'The Rakes Progress'

Friday 16th April I was coming back from a meeting in Central London so I had a quick nose about at SKETCHBOOKS Pop-Up Shop. They had a one off sample sale featuring designs from new and upcoming young designers. Pieces by Ya To, Ada Zanditon, Swagga and Soul, Alice Palmer, Viking Wong, Harriet’s Muse and Dejan Agatonovic.

What was greater than this was some of the designers themselves were there such as Yan To, Alice Palmer (I blogged her amazing show entitled BATMAN at LFW AW10) and Ada Zandition who graduated from London College of Fashion in 2008 like myself. We both went to South Africa in 2007 with other LCF Students for a shared talent project, which involved working with local crafts people at South Africa Fashion Week! Ada also showcased her new collection at LFW in February 2010.

Sketchbooks Pop-Up Store with John-Paul Thurlow

I properly went in to Sketchbooks Pop Up Store on Sunday 11th and stayed. I got there just before it started so I strolled in whilst Wafa the SKETCHBOOK editor and her team were framing and arranging the wonderful work of cover illustrator JOHN PAUL THURLOW.

After arranging and knocking big unwanted holes in the walls and then re arranging to cover these holes the work was finally up looking nicely spaced out and running smoothly around the space.

JOHN-PAUL THURLOW was the man who illustrated Susie Bubble for Sketchbooks first issue and now he is back with mission to create cover art for 100 magazines he owns. 1-100 magazine covers which will be limited edition, numbered and signed.

So this was SKETCHBOOKS second exhibition for their pop up store and it was buzzing with people, music, and sketchbook cupcakes, which were mainly being consumed by 3 kids and the exhausted sketchbook team....(vitamin water obviously wasn't enough!) haha!

So apart from cupcake nicking children we were also joined by a band known as POCKET SATELLITE. We we captured by their fliers which actually flew as there were paper plane intructions on them and then we were captured by their two sets of earthy folk styled music which was very enjoyable! What added to this was how they performed together with many different instruments (some being played at the same time by one person!). With some tunes they even made the beat in front of us from a simple raw form of clapping and then putting this on repeat to play throughout their song.

This is last week of SKETCHBOOKS pop up store (but there are rumours that they may extend...i will keep you posted). Make sure you pop by between 10am-6pm to see talks by various people in the fashion industry, loads of artists work on sale, and mingling with the sketchbook team for a chat or career advice and ranting with regular fashion bloggers that pop by in flushes!

So we are cycling around in a dusty universe for a week playing with GIANT specimens, dressed with neon clothings, dancing with glowing medicines. We are part of a community made up of different camps, worth over 50.000 people for creating and expressing, being free with fancy dress, free booze, free tunes, no time limit, with love we share and care with life size bears.

The Burning Man Festival. 2009 - EVOLUTION

This is an art festival that is situated in Black Rock City in the Nevada Desert approx 2 hours away from the closest city of Reno. Every year the approx 5 mile square Burning Man Festival is built from nothing and is returned to nothing disappearing with no trace of its existence. The burning man festival began in 1986 in San Francisco with 200 hundred people and after 4 years was moved to Black Rock City. Now over 50,000 people attend the festival to celebrate, create, love and share.

Every year in the exact centre of the festival in the middle of the playa surrounded by art works stands THE MAN. Designed differently each year with a different theme. The burn of the man is a sacred act, which has no set meaning. Some people regard it as a symbol of a divine being, a transcendent form of a man, the authority figure holding them down. Some see it as an ancient figure model on ancient Celtic or American Indians where the man was burnt for the celebration of Harvest, or just something to bring all people together.

What I realised with my experience here was that this place could be or mean whatever you want. It could be a spiritual place to find yourself, open your mind up, be creative and express yourself. You work as a community, you are responsible for yourself but take care of others and they take care of you. Everyone is on the same mind level so it works extremely well. No littering in the middle of the desert, toilet hygiene rules, no advertising, selling or buying.

Everything is gifted to culture such as music, food, drink and Art between camps and everyone gifts you with such things and don’t expect anything in return.

Soren Bach exhibition at London Fashion Week AW10.

So in 2007 with his MAD HATTER collection I would have said that if you wanted to be covered in sensible headwear then Soren Bach is not for you safe peoples. But now his adventurousness remains (this will never go) but his ideas have evolved to cater for more of an evening, romantic and classical type folk.

I was lucky enough to blag my way onto the press position to photograph Tempests show....
William Tempest shows his second solo show at London Fashion Weeks Vauxhall Fashion Scout.....Architectural, Folds and Sheen! At the age of 24 he has already dressed the likes of Madonna, Alexa Chung, Victoria Beckham and many others....

Disney fairy tale stuff....thats right, William Tempest has designed this Turquoise (which IS THE colour at the moment), neat folded/sculptured dress for the main character Princess Tiana in the new Disney Animation The Princess and the Frog (but a shiny version).

Here it is in Black.

So the name of this collection is 'Under the Abaya' inspired by Architecture of the middles east.

First inspiration was when he saw a group of Emirati ladies in the airport taking their Abayas off revealing lovely designer and couture garments.

Perhaps inspired my the Middle East's reflective Skyscrapers!

London Fashion Week Autumn/Winter 2010..Vauxhall Fashion Scout...ALICE PALMER TAKES A BATMAN INSPIRED COLLECTION....

Start off with my snap of one of Ada Zandition's models for a practice run at Vauxhall Fashion Scout based at the Freemason Hall. Runway/stage/lighting set up by one of my clients Smoking Gun Events http://www.smokinggunevents.co.uk/

An Interesting show by Alice Palmer who specialises in knitwear. Rumours have it her collection was inspired by Batman and was even entitled Batman!!! Lets compare.....

Spikes and Studs were all over Fashion Week visitors but Alice Palmer used these on her tights, shoes and knitted tops creating a reptile spine, ripple type thing effect ....AMAZING.... and this is something everyone was talking about afterwards!

Exaggerated points and edges and arches....batman wings? or ears perhaps?

Surely Cat Woman inspired...metal spikes to mirror catwomans staple stitching? Although if i was Cat Woman (or Cat Man) Id have Palmers studded spikes any day!

I AM here (its taken ages but my mind is clear), blog is registered with nothing showing at the moment (i need to roundup and catchup)....am back here for a fresh start. I have evolved in many ways since my last blog....mind is wider..or wiser /-; inspirations are thicker and I appreciate. I am back with *cream soda cream soda* (because the littlest details are pungent and they count).

Iv never lasted long with my previous sketchbooks, diaries, blogs, notes on calenders, the list goes on. But I need it now....everything needs to be layed out on the table for me to diary, document, archive, to be clearer and easier for my next hurdle of evolution, which we should all share.... so evolve with me.

Follow those little details which keeps us going and that are the steps to my final work on my website (http://www.nedimnazerali.co.uk/). Behind the scenes and never been scenes (or seen).

I have now run out of brackets so will finish up by saying hello...im ready to share.
